Charles Vallow was Lori Vallow's fourth husband, a successful insurance executive from Arizona, who was shot and killed by Lori's brother Alex Cox on July 11, 2019, in Chandler, Arizona. Cox claimed self-defense, saying Vallow had attacked him with a baseball bat; the shooting was ruled justifiable. Vallow had previously filed for divorce from Lori and had expressed concern in court filings that she had become mentally unstable and dangerous. Cox himself died of a pulmonary embolism in December 2019 under disputed circumstances.
